From the airport to Casa Barbara:
It’s a 5-10 minute, COP$17,000 taxi ride to the apartments (see more Casa Barbara location here).

If you would prefer private transportation (although the cost will be higher), contact English-speaking Álvaro Barreto Maturana via WhatsApp at +57 315 692 9665‬ or email abarreto_maturana@hotmail.com.

BY LAND:
To/From Barranquilla, Santa Marta/Rodadero
We recommend door-to-door van service Transportes Marsol which has a ‘depot’ just a few buildings down from Casa Barbara. You will very likely need to use Spanish in order to book; please let me know if you need help making reservations from Cartagena to whatever you destination may be. If using Marsol to travel *to* Cartagena, it is best to have the staff of your departure accommodations help with the reservations; Marsol should drop you right at the Casa Barbara building.

To book, you need to call them using the appropriate number for your departure city listed below (Barranquilla main office tel: +57 5 369 0999; Cartagena office tel: +57 5 656 0302). They can be contacted as well via WhatsApp +57 319 760 1810 (Barranquilla), +57 319 691 9185 (Cartagena), +57 319 637 7288 (Santa Marta); or messaged via their Facebook page.

Sample per person one way fares as of April 2023 (subject to change): Barranquilla/Cartagena: COP$30,000 and Santa Marta/Cartagena: COP$60,000 (fare could be slightly more if you asked to be picked up). Fare may be paid in cash on board; if departing from Cartagena they will take credit cards at their office but always good to have cash back up just in case.

To/From Mompox:
We recommend the door-to-door van option Toto Express (April 2023 one way rates: shared service COP$120,000/person; private transfer for up to 4 people COP$600,000; cash only); you can communicate with them (in Spanish) by phone/WhatsApp +57 310 707 0838 or email totoexpress2@hotmail.com. If you are staying at Casa Barbara, we’d be happy to help you make reservations.

BY SEA:
Taking a multi-day sailing trip between Cartagena & Panama is popular; Blue Sailing comes recommended.
